Game guide · JIEHUIDB

Making your first moves in Sevens

Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Start a new round when you are ready to try again. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces.

Give this approach a try

Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end. Keep the goal in mind before your next move.

What counts as success

Use the controls beside the game rather than guessing the rules. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. The game area remains available above the explanation.

Making your moves

  1. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.
  2. The holder of 7♦ must play it first. Other suits can open with their own seven.
  3. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.
  4. Play a legal card whenever possible. Passing is allowed only when no card fits.
  5. The first player with an empty hand wins the round.

Controls

Begin with the basic rule, then follow the result of your action. Tap an enabled card from your hand. The suit rows show cards already played. Use Pass only when it is enabled. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.

An example to follow

Check the rule below as you play. After 7♥ is opened, 6♥ or 8♥ can be played. 5♥ must wait until 6♥ is on the table.

Check this before moving on

Take a moment to check the current turn. A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence.

A few questions answered

After 7♥ is opened, 6♥ or 8♥ can be played. 5♥ must wait until 6♥ is on the table. A new round resets the current game.

During a round, which mistake should I avoid?

A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence. Scores here do not represent cash or prizes.

During a round, what rules and limits are used here?

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces. You can start a new round from the game controls.

When I start, how many people can play here?

You vs 3 computers. This is local browser play, not internet matchmaking. The controls work with mouse or touch.

For this game, why must 7♦ open?

This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening variant. The controls work with mouse or touch.

For this game, can I hold back a playable card and pass?

No. A legal move is required whenever one is available. You can start a new round from the game controls.

Where does an Ace go?

Below the two of its own suit. Aces do not follow kings at this table. The worked example offers another way to follow the rule.

Three local computer opponents, all playing from their own hands and the visible table. Use the labelled controls for your next action.
